Abstract : A new chemical treatment technique has been carried out on the inter lock knit fabric of 100% cotton . The main objectives of this treatment were to reduce the dimensional change of knit fabric ,increase the crease resistance and also to improve the dye ability of this fabric .The technique used for treatment contained HMCDE ,MM .The different physical and mechanical properties of the treated fabric were discussed to show the impact of applying this material. The treatment caused an obvious reduction in the fabric dimensional changes due to the cross linking happened inside the fibers .The crease resistance was increase . The dye ability of the fabric strength(Bursting strength) was decreased but it does not affect the fabric behavior because of the high stretch ability of knit fabrics.
